The CPC adopted Guidelines on merger control

The Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC, the Commission), on the basis of Art. 60 (1), point 24 in conjunction with Art. 8 (1), point 13 of the Law on Protection of Competition (LPC), adopted by Decision No. 1345/12.12.2024 Guidelines on merger control (the Guidelines).

The adopted Guidelines aim to bring transparency, clarity and efficiency to the merger control procedures as well as to raise awareness of the CPC’s investigations.

The Guidelines describe in detail the basic principles, concepts, criteria, procedures and approach applied by the Commission in assessing concentrations between undertakings.

The Guidelines are based on the CPC’s experience in assessing concentrations and are subject to periodic amendment and/or supplementation in order to adequately reflect the CPC’s practice in assessing concentrations between undertakings or in the event of significant regulatory changes.
